Tax Credits reduce the amount of tax that you have to pay to Revenue depending on your individual circumstance.

We suggest that you check your tax credits each year to ensure that the correct tax credit is allocated to your income.

PAYE workers should note that the correct tax credits may not be allocated to their employment and occasionally tax credits can be allocated to previous employments. This normally happens when the previous employer hasn’t informed Revenue, that the employee has ceased in their employment.
