The 54th Roscommon Agricultural Show is coming up this Saturday, 15th August 2026, at Hannon’s Grounds, Athlone Road, Roscommon (F42 PH33). It’s the 54th running of the show and is organised by the Roscommon Industrial & Agricultural Show Society.
What’s on
This traditional Irish agricultural show has a pretty broad programme this year including:
- Horses & ponies — young horses, Irish Draughts, thoroughbreds, working hunters, riding classes and pony classes.
- Cattle & sheep — both pedigree and commercial classes, with sheep competitions.
- All-Ireland Irish Draught Yearling Filly Final — one of the headline attractions, scheduled for around 3pm.
- Dog show — starting at approximately 1pm.
- Poultry and rare animals.
- Home industries — including crops, cooking, horticulture and flowers.
- Arts, crafts & photography.
- Trade stands and other attractions.

The show has a strong family and community focus as well as its agricultural side. Last year’s event included competitions in cooking, photography, Lego, arts and crafts alongside the livestock and equestrian sections, with free entry and entertainment for children.

The show is at Hannon’s Grounds/Hannon’s Hotel, Athlone Road, Roscommon. The Irish Shows Association lists it as part of the Western Region and confirms the 15 August date.
