Patrick Darcy, a qualified Accountant with over thirty years’ experience in fraud and forensic accounting investigations is set to speak on the topic of “The work of the Forensic Accountant and how it might assist you and your business” at the forthcoming Accountancy Matters WhatsApp Group meeting, sponsored by Friel Stafford, which takes place at the Sheraton Hotel, Athlone on Friday, 27th February.

Mr Darcy has acted as an independent Expert providing evidence before the Courts having previously worked with PwC (formerly Coopers & Lybrand) in their Tax Investigations department, and as a Director in Grant Thornton’s Forensic & Investigation Services team, and more recently as Head of Forensics with Friel Stafford, 44 Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin 2.

He has acted as an Expert Accountant for Plaintiffs and Defendants in legal proceedings before the High Court in loss claims ranging from €250,000 to €250 million.

Mr Darcy has also acted as an Expert Accountant for the Revenue Commissioners, Environmental Protection Agency, Central Bank of Ireland, Semi-State and Regulatory Bodies and non-profit organisations in various complex cases.

He has substantial experience in formulating and investigating loss claims, unravelling sophisticated and complex fraud transactions, employee investigations and conduct of confidential reviews relating to whistle-blower concerns under the Protected Disclosure Act.”

He will speak on the topic of: “The work of the Forensic Accountant and how it might assist you and your business.”
