Employers and employees are being reminded that PRSI rates are set to change, from the beginning of October 2025.

Tax expert Nuala McGowan, CPA, ACA, AIA is advising that from 1st October there will be a slight increase in all PRSI rates.

The employer PRSI rate will increase from 11.15% to 11.25%, where weekly income is more than €527 and from 8.9% to 9% where weekly income is less.

The employee PRSI rate will increase from 4.1% to 4.2%.

Nuala has advised that PRSI rates are increasing incrementally each October from 2024 to 2028, with a 0.1% rise in 2024 and another in 2025, followed by larger increases in subsequent years.

These changes, approved by the Irish government, affect employers, employees, and the self-employed, aiming to fund the Social Insurance Fund and maintain the state pension age at 66.
